Caspin Resources Ltd(ASX:CPN) MD Greg Miles tells Proactive the company is investigatingthe lithium potential at its Yarawindah Brook Project. The projectsits within Western Australia’s southwest Yilgarn craton, in thesame geological area as the Greenbushes mine — the world’s largestlithium-cesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatite deposit at 360 million tonnesat 1.5% lithium oxide. This comes as the company progressesopportunities at the Mount Squires Project. The potential for lithiumbearing pegmatites adds to the strategic value of Yarawindah Brookwhere Caspin is working to discover high-grade PGE-nickel-copperdeposits.
Milessaid: “Excellent work by our geological team has recognisedYarawindah Brook to have the right source rocks and the rightstructural setting for the emplacement of LCT pegmatites.
“We’re in afortunate position that our systematic soil geochemistry gives us ahead start on assessing the lithium prospectivity of the project andin fact shows signs of lithium pathfinder elements such as tin andtantalum.
“These pathfinder elements have also been recognised byprevious explorers within and adjacent to our tenements, so we areseeing multiple datasets supporting our conceptualtargeting.”
