- CME Group ( NASDAQ: CME ) finished Q1 with its second-highest quarterly volume on record, climbing 4% to 26.9M contracts from the prior quarter, it said Tuesday.
- Interest rate average daily volume of 14,489,970 contracts advanced 16% from Q1 2022. And options ADV came in at 5,810,179 contracts, a Y/Y jump of 26%.
- March also represented the derivative exchange's second-highest ADV ever for that month, surging 24% to 30.3M contracts.
- Moreover, SOFR futures ADV was a record 5,158,969 contracts, with record open interest of 10,979,379 contracts on March 9. Record SOFR options ADV of 2,943,422 contracts, with record OI of 45,169,674 contracts on March 9.
- Options ADV soared 46% from March 2022, equity index ADV gained 13% and bitcoin futures ADV ascended 51%.
