Ecopetrol ( NYSE: EC ) said Tuesday it has suspended pumping operations along the Cano Limon-Covenas pipeline in Colombia for the past 12 days because of damage caused by a series of bombings.
The latest pipeline attack on Monday occurred in a rural zone of the Cubara municipality, in Colombia's Boyaca province.
Pumping oil through the pipeline has been suspended since March 16, the company said, adding that resumption of operations will depend on the ability of Colombia's military to secure the attacked areas.
The Cano Limon-Covenas pipeline, which can transport as much as 210K bbl/day of oil, was attacked 13 times last year, causing fires and damage to surrounding areas.
Ecopetrol ( EC ) stock is "a steal at 3.3x earnings with 22% dividend yield," Ian Bezek writes in an analysis published recently on Seeking Alpha .
