Corazon Mining Ltd(ASX:CZN) managing director Brett Smith tells Proactive that a“substantial” nickel sulphide body is taking shape at the LynnLake Nickel Project in Manitoba, Canada.
Thanks to a two-hole drilling program over thefamed Fraser Lake Complex, the explorer was able to test a geophysicalanomaly and intersect a 55.4-metre sulphide zone that hosts massive,semi-massive and disseminated sulphides.
Smith says the target could warrant follow-updrilling, depending on the results that come back from core sampleanalysis. Signing off, he also provides a brief update on thecompany’s WA lithium project.
“The most significant outcome from this drillingis proving that our new geophysical techniques can identify thetargeted magmatic sulphides, as well as these late, metal-richultramafic pipes,” he told the market on Thursday.
“This drilling is thefirst in testing several similar geophysical anomalies, some of whichlink into areas of known nickel mineralisation.
“Although we have not previously seenbarren magmatic sulphides associated with these rocks, thefine-grained nature of the sulphide mineralisation is atypical of thecoarse grained Lynn Lake sulphide bodies, and as such we advisecaution in assuming the tenor of nickel within the sulphidezone.”
