- Private airport operator Corporación América Airports ( NYSE: CAAP ) on Wednesday said total passenger traffic for the month of Jan. 2023 increased 42.7% Y/Y.
- The rise in traffic was supported by an ongoing recovery in travel demand following the COVID-19 pandemic, as reflected by higher load factors and the gradual restart of routes and frequencies across all countries of operations, CAAP said in a statement .
- CAAP said traffic in Armenia and Ecuador had reached above pre-pandemic levels, while Argentina and Brazil were at 93% and 85%, respectively.
- Overall Jan. passenger traffic recovered to 89.9% of pre-pandemic levels in Jan. 2019.
- CAAP said cargo volume for Jan. rose 5.1% Y/Y and stood at 79.9% of Jan. 2019 levels. Around 70% of cargo volume originated in Argentina and Brazil.
- Corporación América Airports ( CAAP ) stock earlier closed -2% at $9.29.
