- Private airport operator Corporación América Airports ( NYSE: CAAP ) on Tuesday said total passenger traffic for the month of March 2023 increased 33.6% Y/Y.
- The rise in traffic was supported by an ongoing recovery in travel demand following the COVID-19 pandemic, as reflected by higher load factors and the gradual restart of routes and frequencies across all countries of operations, CAAP said in a statement .
- CAAP said traffic in Armenia and Ecuador were above pre-pandemic levels, while Argentina and Brazil were at 93% and 89%, respectively.
- Overall March passenger traffic recovered to 91.7% of pre-pandemic levels in March 2019.
- CAAP said cargo volume for March rose 9.8% Y/Y and stood at 87.3% of March 2019 levels. Around 80% of cargo volume originated in Argentina, Ecuador and Brazil.
- Corporación América Airports ( CAAP ) stock earlier closed -0.4% at $11.35.
