- Starting next month, Amazon Prime ( NASDAQ: AMZN ) members will no longer get free delivery on Amazon Fresh grocery orders under $150. The new policy starts on Feb. 28.
- The move to impose new fees comes as the company attempts to trim costs amid inflation. Currently, Amazon ( AMZN ) offers members free grocery deliveries on orders above $35, with the exception of New York, where it's $50.
- Per the new policy, the firm said delivery charges will be $3.95 for orders between $100-$150, $6.95 for orders of $50 to $100, and $9.95 for orders under $50.
- Over the past few months, Amazon has axed unprofitable areas of its business and paused hiring among its corporate workforce . It has also decided to pursue 18,000 layoffs , mostly at its retail and human resources divisions.
