The pan-European Stoxx 600 edged -0.14% lower, with most sectors in negative territory. Mining stocks led losses, followed by food and beverage stocks. Media and retail stocks bucked the trend and gained marginally.

In the bond market, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield was up 2 basis points to 3.82%.
Germany's 10-year yield was up 4 basis points to 2.49%.
