- The European antitrust review of Amazon's ( NASDAQ: AMZN ) planned $1.65 billion purchase of robot vacuum maker iRobot ( NASDAQ: IRBT ) has been delayed slightly.
- The European Commission pushed back the deadline for its decision on the deal by 20 working days to Dec. 13, according to a filing on the regulator's website . A Commission spokesperson told Bloomberg that the extension had been agreed to after discussions with Amazon.
- On July 6, the European Commission opened an in-depth review into the purchase of the Roomba vacuum maker that was originally set to expire on Nov. 15.
- The UK's antitrust regulator approved the transaction last month. iRobot ( IRBT ) received a second request from the Federal Trade Commission in September to do a more in-depth review of the Amazon ( AMZN ) deal. Amazon last month c onfirmed it filed substantial compliance with the FTC's second request.
