Fathom Nickel CEO Ian Fraser joinedProactive's Steve Darling to announce an expansion of thecompany's land position at the Gochager Lake project. FathomNickel has staked an additional 3,060 hectares of land, which issituated approximately three kilometres south of the site of theirrecent Gochager Lake exploration program.
Fraser emphasized the significance of this land acquisition, asit adds a key area to Fathom Nickel's portfolio. With thisexpansion, the company now possesses 13 out of the 15 high-prioritytargets identified in a 2008 VTEM survey. This positions Fathom Nickelto explore and evaluate a wide range of prospective areas within theGochager Lake project.
Additionally, Fraser mentioned the flexibility provided by thisland acquisition in relation to the Mal Lake nickel occurrence. Adrill hole from 1967 intersected promising results, revealing 1.12% Niand 0.24% Cu over 7.9 meters. The increased land position enhancesFathom Nickel's ability to assess and potentially exploit thisnickel occurrence more effectively.
Fraser also provided anupdate on the company's exploration activities. Boreholeelectromagnetic surveys at the Gochager Lake project are expected tobe completed by July 14. These surveys will generate valuable data,which will be utilized to identify and prioritize drill targets forfuture exploration efforts.
