- New York began the first legal sales of adult-use marijuana on Thursday at 420p Thursday at a new cannabis dispensary near Manhattan's Astor Place.
- Housing Works Cannabis Co., operated by a non-profit, made its first public sale to an individual previously arrested for a marijuana-related offense, The New York Times reported.
- Unlike other states that allow the sale of recreational marijuana, New York, at least initially, is only licensing shops to individuals impacted by the drug war or non-profit organizations. Although multi-state operators have a presence in the state for medical cannabis operations, it is unclear when they would be able to also apply for adult-use licenses.
