- Carl Icahn's Icahn Enterprises ( NASDAQ: IEP ) said the Hindenburg short report doesn't effect IEP's liquidity and the company plans to declare a distribution in the amount of $2.00 per depositary unit. IEP rose 3% in after hours trading.
- "We obviously disagree with the inflammatory assertions in the Hindenburg report and intend to respond at length – and to vigorously defend IEP and its unitholders," Icahn said in a statement.
- Icahn Enterprise ( IEP ) shares have plunged 40% over the past three days after the Hindenburg short report was released on Tuesday. Hindenburg said it had taken a short position in the units of Icahn Enterprises and alleged the IEP units were "inflated" and that the company trades about its net asset value, according to the short report.
- Icahn, after delaying its earnings release from Friday, will release its Q1 results on Wednesday.
