- IMAX ( NYSE: IMAX ) is sealing new deals for locations in Mexico and Florida.
- The large-screen format theater chain said at CinemaCon that it's reached a deal with Cinemex for six new IMAX with Laser systems in Mexico.
- Four of those will be located in Mexico City, with two locations currently unannounced. They'll all feature IMAX's most current system, though: a 4K laser projection system with its new optical engine and custom lenses.
- The first of those systems are expected to open to the public in the fourth quarter. It's the most significant expansion for IMAX in Mexico in a decade.
- Meanwhile, IMAX also announced an expanded partnership with CMX Cinemas that covers three new IMAX with Laser systems in Florida: two new locations in Daytona Beach and Palm Beach, and an upgrade of an existing location in Miami.
- IMAX first partnered with CMX in 2017, and it's currently teamed up on five locations in the Eastern U.S., including three in Florida.
