- JetBlue ( NASDAQ: JBLU ) has started flight services from Orlando International Airport to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and Santiago, Dominican Republic.
- The airline plans to add up to 200 low-fare flights to the central Florida airport by 2027 after its planned acquisition of Spirit Airlines ( NYSE: SAVE ).
- However, the acquisition has hit roadblocks, most recently with the Dept. of Justice's lawsuit to block the $3.8 billion deal. The case was reassigned to a new judge earlier this month after it was been assigned to U.S. District Judge Leo Sorokin, who was also overseeing the DOJ's lawsuit challenging the Northeast Alliance , where the government is trying to end an alliance between American Airlines ( AAL ) and JetBlue ( JBLU ) over the Northeast corridor.
- JetBlue ( JBLU ) is trading around +2.5% on Thursday just before 12pm ET.
