Kellogg ( NYSE: K ) has filed a Form 10 statement with the SEC relating to its previously announced plan to separate into two businesses, the company said Monday.

The companies will be separated into Kellanova and WK Kellogg Co., and existing Kellogg shareowners will receive shares in the new WK Kellogg Co.

After spinning off WK Kellogg Co., the remainder of Kellogg Company will change its name to Kellanova and will continue to be traded on the NYSE under the "K" symbol.

The separation transaction is expected to be completed during the fourth quarter of 2023.
