I believe it's increasingly important to diversify geographically, and I want to at least consider some locales that might be off the beaten track, at least as far as American investors are concerned. In the United States, surging public debt is fueling concerns over financial sustainability, and high PE ratios have made stocks historically expensive (see the SP500 CAPE ratio below). Just north, Canada is struggling in the face of trade tensions with the United States. Across the pond, Europe still lags in regard to technology and innovation. Given all of this, diversifying in non-Western markets looks increasingly appealing, although doing so is fraught with risks and difficult to achieve....
