The pilot is being conducted in collaboration with theAustralian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO), andaims to scale up the lab-tested LIT LieNA® technology, which hasshown promising results in extracting high-quality lithium. Thisinitiative is pivotal to refining the process and preparing for alarger-scale demonstration, with ANSTO providing crucial support inprocess development and research services.
The outcomes of this pilot program will guide the engineeringstudy for a demonstration plant, possibly leading to independentdevelopment and operation by MinRes. The collaboration is poised tocommercialise LieNA® through a licensing model, aiming for a 50:50joint venture that will manage the technology's global licensing,with a focus on greenfield and brownfield spodumene mines.
