Manchester United ( MAN ) jumped 8% amid a report that the famed soccer club is negotiating exclusivity with Qatar's Sheikh Jassim over his more than $6 billion takeover offer.
The Qatari offer is viewed by the Glazer family as more favorable than British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe's bid, according to a Reuters report, that cited people familiar with the matter.
The latest update in the soccer takeover saga comes after Manchester United ( NYSE: MANU ) shares rose 14% on Tuesday after a Qatari newspaper claimed that a takeover bid from Sheikh Jassim was in the pole position.
Newspaper Al-Watan reported that Qatar's Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani will soon be announced as the preferred bidder, according to several English language reports.
