Maple Gold Mines CEO Matthew Hornordiscusses the positive results of the first phase of deep drilling atthe Douay Gold Project in Québec with Proactive's StephenGunnion.
Hornor explained that theobjective of this phase was to understand the geology at depth withina 12 square kilometer area. The results confirmed the presence of adeeper structure with the potential for a significant gold project.
With only five holes drilled, thediscovery points to a promising mineralization continuity up to fourtimes deeper than the current resource definition. Hornor anticipatedimproved results in subsequent phases, collaborating with partnerAgnico Eagle.
The next step involvesrefining the search area using daughter holes to efficiently explorethicker mineralized sections. Drilling is expected to resume laterthis year.
Hornor said the additionof Josh Pelletier, a seasoned structural geologist, as the new chiefgeologist enhances the team's ability to understand theproject's magnitude.
