Microsoft ( NASDAQ: MSFT ) and Activision ( NASDAQ: ATVI ) are asking a federal judge to hold at least a five-day hearing on the Federal Trade Commission's request for a preliminary injunction to block the $69 billion videogame deal.
The request comes after Judge Jacqueline S. Corley on Tuesday set June 22 and June 23 for a two-day hearing on the preliminary injunction in San Francisco.
The companies are also asking for a case management conference as soon as Thursday and are asking for the main hearing to extend into the week of June 26, according to a court filing on Wednesday.
The San Francisco court on Tuesday granted a temporary restraining order that blocks Microsoft ( MSFT ) from completing its purchase of Activision ( ATVI ).
"To be clear, defendants have no interest in delaying the resolution of this matter," attorneys for Microsoft and Activision wrote. "But defendants respectfully submit that a hearing of two days is not enough time to present the issues in this case and that further discussion of the schedule is warranted."
