Stock futures fell Thursday with the NASDAQ Composite set to fall deeper into correction territory as Meta became the latest tech company to report quarterly results that did not quite live up to investors' expectations.
Futures for the Dow Jones Industrials sank 132 points, or 0.4%, to 33,018.
Futures for the S&P 500 ditched 31.25 points, or 0.7%, at 4,178.50.
Futures for the NASDAQ stumbled 140.5 points, or 1%, to 14,337.75.
Facebook-parent Meta beat on top and bottom lines in the third quarter, but the company noted that it was seeing some advertising softness so far this quarter. Investors also worried about cost control with the company's Reality Labs division losing $3.7 billion in the prior quarter. Meta shares slid 3%.
Major earnings are also on the horizon, with Amazon scheduled to post results after the close.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 dwindled 2.1% Thursday, while in Hong Kong, the Hang Seng dipped 0.2 %.
Oil prices withered $2.61 to $82.78 U.S. a barrel.
Gold prices lost 90 cents to $1,994.00 U.S. an ounce.
