- Nasdaq's U.S. matched equity volume increased 4.2% in June 2023 to 41.825B shares from 40.131B in May 2023 and dropped 17% from 48.660B shares in June 2022, the exchange disclosed in its monthly volume data on Monday.
- U.S. equity options volume inched up 0.4% in June to 270M contracts from 269M contracts in May and increased 18% Y/Y.
- European equity volume of $64.1B dropped 8.6% M/M and fell 13% Y/Y.
- European options and futures volume dipped 3.5% M/M in June to 5.6M contracts and rose 3.7% Y/Y.
- For the quarter, Nasdaq's ( NASDAQ: NDAQ ) U.S. equity market share improved to 17.1% in Q2 from 16.6% in Q1 and dropped from 17.3% in Q2 2022.
- Its market share for U.S. equity options was 30.6% in Q2 2023, down from 30.8% in Q1 and from 31.4% in Q2 2022.
- Earlier on Monday, B3 and Nasdaq ( NDAQ ) formed a partnership to develop a new clearing platform for the Brazilian stock exchange.
