- Natura & Co. ( NYSE: NTCO ) rose 2.2% amid a report that the Brazilian cosmetic company's sale of Aesop has moved to the second round of bidding.
- Strategic bidders are said to include L'Occitane ( OTCPK:LCCTF ), Shiseido ( OTCPK:SSDOY ), LVMH ( OTCPK:LVMHF ) and L'Oreal ( OTCPK:LRLCF ), according to a Dealreporter item. Some bidders are said to be offering $1.5 billion to $2 billion for Aesop.
- Blackstone ( BX ), KKR and CVC Capital may be interested in a purchase of Aesop, according to the report.
- Bloomberg reported late last month that LVMH ( OTCPK:LVMHF ) and L'Oreal ( OTCPK:LRLCF ) and Shiseido ( OTCPK:SSDOY ) were said to be weighing offers for a stake in Aseop that could value the high-end cosmetics maker at $2 billion or more.
- The report comes after Natura ( NTCO ) said in October that its board initiated a review of Aesop brand.
