- Ping An Insurance ( OTCPK:PNGAY ) ( OTCPK:PIAIF ) said Friday its new financial data center has set a benchmark for energy-saving and emission-reduction technology in China, marking a step in its goal to achieve operational carbon neutrality by 2030.
- The company said its Ping An Guanlan Data Center No. 3 is the first data center in mainland China with a Power Usage Effectiveness lower than 1.25, which is expected to save about 10.5M kilowatt hours of electricity and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 6,406 tons per year.
- In China, the PUE indicator of financial data centers are generally between 1.6 and 2. The Guanlan Data Center No. 3 has a PUE of 1.2479, the company said.
- For its overall performance, Ping An ( OTCPK:PNGAY ) said in 2021 its total carbon emissions decreased by 19% Y/Y to ~429K tons and the electricity consumption of its own and leased workplaces fell 2.65% Y/y to 513.9M kWh.
