Rocket Companies ( NYSE: RKT ) said Monday its board has appointed Varun Krishna as the fintech company's chief executive officer starting September 5.
Krishna will succeed Bill Emerson, who served as interim CEO since June. Emerson will retire when Krishna starts his new position and will step down from his roles as CEO of Rocket Mortgage and as president and chief operating officer of Rocket Companies ( RKT ).
RKT advanced 2.7% in Monday morning trading.
Throughout his 20 years of experience building consumer platform strategies for global fintechs, Krishna "has delivered innovative, technology-driven client experiences for complex personal transactions in large, fragmented markets," said Rocket Companies Founder and Chairman Dan Gilbert.
He was most recently executive vice president and general manager of Intuit's ( INTU ) Consumer Group, where he oversaw its end-to-end suite of consumer and tax products and services like TurboTax.
Before that, he served as senior director of Product at PayPal ( PYPL ), where he managed the payment giant's global consumer product team.
