The company’s software-defined data center is the first with this distinction
Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) announced today that it is the first company worldwide to achieve VMware Certified Partner Architecture for the latest Validated Design, version 5.0, demonstrating its commitment to deliver advanced software-defined data center (SDDC) solutions.
SAIC is a VMware Enterprise Solution Provider, delivering on-premises private and hybrid cloud-based IT environments to federal and commercial customers. SAIC can architect, build, migrate, and operate tailored solutions using VMware technologies and services. SAIC’s solution provides a private cloud that can be quickly scaled up (or down) and allows existing VMware virtualized data center clients to extend or move their workloads. Also, as a VMware Certified Architecture Partner, we are able to certify our own automations, develop a library of SAIC-proprietary automations, and can create and certify custom automations for customers.
“We are excited to be the first and only company to earn VMware’s latest design certification. This certification expands our current suite of offerings and enables us to continue to provide the latest technologies to our customers,” said Coby Holloway, SAIC vice president of Enterprise IT.
Using cloud, customers can rapidly scale up or contract capacity when needed, migrate workloads, and establish cloud-based backup and disaster recovery scenarios, while still maintaining a test, training, or lab capability.
For SAIC customers, this new certification further improves their ability to:
- Reduce large, complex SDDC deployments from 6-8 months to 6-8 weeks.
- Streamline data center and hybrid cloud deployment costs.
- Heighten security and simplifies IT operations and maintenance through the use of pre-certified automations and design templates.
- Reduce configuration drift strengthening cloud-based backups.
