Vancouver , BC - TheNewswire- April 16 ,2023 - Arbor Metals Corp. (the " Company " or" Arbor ") (TSXV:ABR ) ( FWB:432) announces that it has initiated DIRTExploration of Cape Town, South Africa, to carry out a long-waveinfrared survey (" LWIR ") and interpretation ofhigh-resolution satellite imagery over the four blocks comprising theCompany's Jarnet Lithium Project and surrounding area in the James Bayregion of Quebec. The Jarnet Lithium Project covers approximately3,759 hectares and comprises 70 map-designated claims.
Located less than two km northwest of Patriot BatteryMetals Inc.’s (“PMET”) CV-5 pegmatite target, the Jarnet Southblock is the subject of Arbor’s ongoing exploration efforts. PMETrecently reported (PMET news release, March 29th, 2023) a high-gradeextension (Nova Zone) of the CV 5 target of 87.7 metres averaging 3.13per cent Li2O (lithium oxide), including 19.8 metres of 5.28 per centLi2O.
LWIR analysis has the ability to map oridentif y mineraldistribution over extensive areas covered by foliage and shallow cover through reflectancespectroscopy against a set of known standards and proprietaryprocessing of satellite data. The LWIR analysiscan view mineral spectra to shallow depths, thanks to itsground-penetrating nature, utilizing the long-wave bands of infraredradiation. This survey, together with satellite imagery analysis, willincorporate data and known pegmatite occurrences that have beenidentified from the Company’s 2022 reconnaissance-scale fieldprogram.
Arbor is currently compiling existing assessment andregional data on the four Jarnet claim blocks and surroundingproperties. While some of the neighbouring properties have receivedlimited attention on lithium mineralization, there is availablegeological and geophysical assessment data relating to exploration forbase (Cu, Zn, Pb) and precious (Au, Ag) metal targets. The JarnetSouth Block has southern and eastern boundaries contiguous with PMET Corvette Property, while the North Block iscontiguous to PMET’s Corvette Property on the southwestboundary.
The DIRT interpretive report and the Company’scompilation will be used to refine proposed exploration targets on theJarnet Project for the 2023 field season.
Note: The Company cautions thediscoveries and observations on properties in proximity to theCompany's properties are not necessarily indicative of the presence ofsimilar mineralization or geology on the company's properties.
