- SkyWater Technology ( NASDAQ: SKYT ) said Tuesday the U.S. Dept. of Defense is funding a $27M other transactional deal option to further develop intellectual property for its 90 nm Strategic Rad-Hard by Process (RH90) FDSOI technology platform.
- This deal aims to ensure a reliable source of U.S.-made chips for defense and space applications.
- The deal is part of an investment of up to $170M in SKYT by the DOD to broaden onshore production capabilities for rad-hard electronics.
- The DOD recently determined that SKYT successfully completed the base prototype project.
