Stock futures rose slightly to kick off the final trading week of August.
Futures for the Dow Jones Industrials jumped 97 points, or 0.3%, to 34,474.
Futures for the S&P 500 acquired 9.75 points, or 0.2%, to 4,424.
Futures for the NASDAQ hiked 52.75 points, or 0.4%, to 15,032.
Shares of 3M popped more than 6% after a Bloomberg News report that the company was ready to settle lawsuits alleging some earplugs were faulty.
The final trading week of August kicks off Monday, with all the major indices on track to finish the month with losses. The Dow and S&P have slumped 3.4% and 4%, respectively, since the start of the month, while the Nasdaq lost about 5.3%.
Investors will weigh the Federal Reserve's preferred inflation gauge, the personal consumption expenditure index, out on Thursday. Wall Street will then turn its attention to a fresh non-farm payroll report on Friday.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 index jumped 1.7% Monday, while in Hong Kong, the Hang Seng climbed 1%.
Oil prices poked ahead five cents to $79.88 U.S. a barrel.
Gold prices jumped $2.60 to $1,942.50 U.S. an ounce.
