- Teledyne Technologies ( NYSE: TDY ) said Thursday its unit Teledyne FLIR Defense received new orders worth $62.1M from the U.S. Armed Services for its Centaur unmanned ground vehicles.
- The Army, Navy and other command centers placed orders for ~500 more Centaur UGVs, including additional spares, antennas, and payload mounting kits.
- This latest award raises the value of the Man Transportable Robot System Increment II (MTRS Inc. II) contract from ~$190M to over $250M.
- Deliveries are expected to begin in Q1 2023.
- Explosive ordnance disposal teams use the Centaur UGV to disable unexploded ordnance, improvised explosive devices and landmines, and to perform similar dangerous tasks.
- Since 2020, Teledyne FLIR secured orders for over 1.8K Centaur UGVs from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps.
