Stocks discussed: (CSE:VSBY) (5VS.F) (OTC:VSBGF) (NYSE:UTX) (NasdaqGS:AMZN)
VSBLTY Groupe Technologies Corp. (CSE:VSBY) (5VS.F) (OTC:VSBGF) and intelligent lighting solutions provider Energetika are setting new standards of safety in Mexican municipalities through their installation of thousands of security kits, powered by the former's AI-inspired software. These security kits provide "outdoor mounted HD cameras, high intensity lighting, motion sensors and audible alarms," as well as "facial recognition and real time video analytics for crowd behavior." This solution has allowed Cuajimalpa County in Mexico City to become the safest in the capital as its mayor Adrian Ruvalcaba explained:
"We have gone from the 11th Safest to Number One during 2019. The single major contributor to this change is the camera network that is not even fully installed yet."
VSBLTY CEO Jay Hutton commented:
"We are excited to see the amazing early safety results of this deployment. It is setting the standard for collaborative security where citizens, law enforcement and technology work together to achieve a higher level of security. This Smart City deployment extends the reach of the security umbrella to residences and provides citizen access to city services right on individuals' mobile devices. We look forward to collaborating on future deployments that will provide the next generation of public safety applications including tracking persons of interest, weapon detection, as well as vehicle and crowd analytics using the power of machine learning and computer vision."
HVAC (heating, ventilation, air condition) giant Carrier Corporation, part of United Technologies Corporation (NYSE:UTX), has selected Amazon Web Services (AWS), a subsidiary of Amazon (NasdaqGS:AMZN), to drive its digital transformation. According to the press release, Carrier "is moving up to 70 percent of its 4,000 servers and 996 applications away from legacy servers and databases to AWS," and leveraging "AWS data warehouse, analytics, and machine learning (ML) services to identify efficiencies in its manufacturing processes and supply chains." Mike Clayville, Vice President, Worldwide Commercial Sales at AWS, Inc., commented:
"For more than a century, Carrier products and services have shaped the indoor environments in which people around the world live and work. With AWS's unmatched set of cloud services, Carrier is positioned to leap ahead in its vision of transforming itself for the digital age, putting data to work to provide better customer experiences, and delivering agility that will enable it to remain a global leader in building technologies."
