- Tech-focused private equity firm Thoma Bravo is said in advanced discussions to purchase Coupa Software ( NASDAQ: COUP ) after outbidding rival PE firm Vista Equity.
- A deal may be announced as soon as this week, according to a Bloomberg report , which didn't include a deal price. The transaction price may be $81 a share, according to a tweet from CNBC's David Faber.
- The news comes after after Bloomberg reported Nov. 23 that Vista Equity was said to be exploring a possible purchase and had held talks with the company, sending the shares surging almost 30% that day.
- Coupa ( COUP ) shares jumped 7% in after hours trading on Friday after a Bloomberg report that private credit firms were said to be working on a $3 billion debt package to help finance a PE takeover of Coupa.
