US Banks Kick Off Earnings Season: JPM, WFC, GS, & BLK

JPMorgan Chase ( JPM ) kicked off earnings season Tuesday morning with Q3 results that topped estimates, guiding its full-year net interest income (NII) higher. JPM’s Markets unit delivered record revenue on financing demand, while Assets & Wealth Management benefitted from client activity. Meanwhile, Wells Fargo ( WFC ) also delivered a Q3 bea t while Goldman Sachs ( GS ) was mixed, with Q3 expenses running above Wall Street expectations. Still, its NII beat consensus on the back of stronger investment banking and asset/wealth management. BlackRock ( BLK ) Q3 earnings were also a standout with revenue exceeding the average analyst estimate as total net inflows reached a record, helping to drive 10% organic base fee growth in the third quarter. By Tuesday’s close, JPM ended 1.91% lower, while WFC jumped 7.15%, GS dipped 2.04%, and BLK rose 3.39%....
