- Toyota claims that by 2030, ~30% of Toyota's sales will be BEVs. This means ICE, hybrid and FCEV will still comprise 70% of Toyota’s sales in 2030.
- 100% of Toyota vehicles may be BEVs by 2035. Is this acknowledging the end of the ICE and fuel cell Mirai? A presentation from President Toyoda makes that seem unlikely.
- $70 billion investment in BEVs and batteries by 2030. This obfuscates about investment in hybrids (which have batteries).
- Toyota uses employment in the ICE industry as a reason to delay the switch to BEVs. Toyota seems unaware of the climate issues dictating the end of the ICE.
