Trevali Mining ( OTCQX:TREVF ) said on Monday its shares have been halted on the Toronto Stock Exchange and may be delisted from public trading elsewhere after filing for bankruptcy protection under the Canadian Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act.
The miner said it suspended operations at its Caribou mine in Canada and placed the expansion of its Rosh Pinah mine in Namibia on hold.
Trevali ( OTCQX:TREVF ) said last week it would not be able to make a mandatory prepayment on a $7.5M revolving credit facility.
Earlier this year, Trevali ( OTCQX:TREVF ) suffered eight fatalities at its flooded Perkoa zinc mine in Burkina Faso .
