Trump SPAC Digital World Acquisition ( NASDAQ: DWAC ), which is taking Trump's social media company and Truth Social app, extended the date it has to complete a business combination to June from March.
Digital World ( DWAC ) extended its initial business combination to June 8 from March 8 , according to an 8-K filing on Tuesday.
The extension is the third of four three-month extensions permitted under the company's governing documents.
This is third extension after DWAC's SPAC sponsor in September deposited $2.88 million to extend the time company needs to complete its deal with Trump's social media company by three months to Dec. 8.
"As a result of the support from the stockholders which provided for up to four three-month extensions to provide additional time to continue working diligently on the potential business combination, we are happy to exercise the third of such three-month extensions," DWAC CEO Patrick Orlando said in a statement.
DWAC shareholders in November voted to extend the time DWAC has to complete a deal by a year after the holder vote had been adjourned six times.
Digital World ( DWAC ) is nearing lows reached last month on reports that that the former President plans to return to social media platforms such as Twitter.
