Twitter ( NYSE: TWTR ) has raised the price of its Twitter Blue subscription product, to $5 per month in the United States from a previous $3 per month.
The hike isn't limited to the United States, though; it's also going up in other Twitter Blue markets: In Australia, to A$6.99 a month from A$4.49; in Canada, to C$6.49 a month from C$3.49; and in New Zealand, to 6.99 New Zealand dollars from 4.49.
New users are paying the new price already ("Depending on your time zone, the price increase for new subscribers occurred on July 27 or July 28, 2022"). Existing subscribers will keep paying the $2.99 per month until they get a 30-day notice about their price changing, set to arrive in October.
The company has kept any details about uptake of the subscription offering close to its vest. It launched Twitter Blue last summer, offering extra tools to undo, organize and revise tweets, and organize bookmarks into folders . After launching in Australia and Canada, the company spread the subscription into New Zealand and the United States in November .
