Tyson Foods ( NYSE: TSN ) announced that it inked a deal to acquire Williams Sausage Company for an undisclosed amount.
Williams Sausage Company is noted to be a provider of fresh and fully cooked sausage, bacon and sandwiches to retail and foodservice customers. The company is based out of Union City, Tennessee and built a second facility in Obion County, Tennessee in 2017 with a new distribution center, maintenance center, and a sandwich production line.
"The addition of Williams Sausage Company aligns with our strategic intent of expanding our capacity to serve our customers,” said Tyson exec Stewart Glendinning.
The transaction is still subject to approval by U.S. regulators before closing.
