- Total active drilling rigs in the U.S. fell by 4 to 751, Baker Hughes said in its latest weekly report , posting back-to-back declines after two straight weekly increases.
- Drilling rigs targeting crude oil in the U.S. fell by 2 to 590, while gas rigs also lost 2 to 158 and 3 rigs remained classified as miscellaneous.
- The total rig count is 9% higher than at the same time last year.
- Rigs targeting oil in the Permian Basin gained 1 to 348.
