- National security and health officials who decided to relax the testing requirements this week are expected to inform U.S. airlines, Chinese diplomats, and others before announcing the change.
- In December, the U.S. announced a plan to require pre-departure negative COVID tests for travelers from China aged two years and above. The policy, which took effect on Jan. 05, followed a surge in COVID cases in China after the country eased its strict “ Zero-COVID” policy in December.
