- Unilever ( NYSE: UL ) has appointed Hein Schumacher to succeed Alan Jope as CEO, effective July 1.
- The CEO change comes as the company looks to boost growth across its uneven portfolio, while struggling with rising input costs, changing consumer trends and macro economic pressure
- Schumacher is currently CEO of Royal FrieslandCampina and joined Unilever’s board as a nonexecutive director in October, 2022.
- Alan Jope, who announced in September 2022 his intention to retire, will step down from the Unilever Board on 1 July.
- UL stock slipped around 3% past 12 months.
