United Airlines has reached an agreement with the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers (IAM), according to a social media post from CEO Scott Kirby.
The agreement in principle covers seven IAM contracts for nearly 30,000 United Airlines workers. Kirby indicated that the new contract will be “industry-leading.”
The union also acknowledged a positive development on the contract after 14 hours of negotiations on Friday. However, they emphasized that a final agreement has not been signed by the parties as of yet in the most recent update , emphasizing that certain demands must be put in writing.
While Kirby wrote that an agreement has been reached in principle, the details of this agreement have not yet been disclosed.
