- Uniti Group ( NASDAQ: UNIT ) announced on Thursday a long-term contract with a large global internet provider to offer long-haul dark fiber connectivity to data centers in 12 U.S. cities.
- The company will provide connectivity in routes including El Paso, Texas to San Antonio, Texas; Indianapolis, Indiana to Nashville, Tennessee; Nashville, Tennessee to Atlanta, Georgia; Dallas, Texas to Beaumont, Texas; Houston, Texas to Jacksonville, Florida; Tallahassee, Florida to Tampa, Florida; and Miami, Florida to Tampa, Florida.
- Uniti will deliver these routes throughout 2023 and 2024. The agreement covers over a combined 3,100 fiber route miles and require Uniti to build 10 new In-Line Amplifier shelters. Uniti will be able to lease additional space and power from these locations to other customers and also deploy its Private Wave Channel product in the near future.
