- Valvoline ( NYSE: VVV ) said Wednesday that Sam Mitchell will retire as CEO and a board member effective September 30, to be succeeded by Lori Flees, current President of Retail Services.
- Mitchell has served as CEO and a director since September 2016; he joined Valvoline ( VVV ), then a division of Ashland Inc., in 1997 and became president of Valvoline and vice president of Ashland in 2002.
- Flees, who has led Valvoline's ( VVV ) Retail Services segment since April 2022, spent 17 years at Bain & Company and nearly a decade at Walmart, where most recently she led all aspects of the company's Health & Wellness business.
- Valvoline ( VVV ) +5% pre-market Wednesday after reporting better than expected Q2 adjusted earnings .
