Volcon ( VLCN ) announced a partnership with ElectraMeccanica Vehicles ( NASDAQ: SOLO ) for final assembly of Volcon’s electric utility terrain vehicle.
The new vehicle, the Volcon Stag, was first announced in the summer of 2022, receiving over $100M worth of pre-order reservations in just the first month or so after being announced. ElectraMeccanica was previously contracted for the Grunt EVO and Runt LT electric motorcycles from Volcon.
Assembly will take place at ElectraMeccanica’s ( SOLO ) Mesa, Arizona facility and is seen as a step toward “assisting Volcon with their reshoring efforts for the Americas.”
“We continue to make progress in scaling our vertically integrated supply chain in partnership with GLV Mexico, with frames, panels, suspension components, paint and cure lines ramping as we speak,” Volcon CEO Jordan Davis commented. “By adding stateside assembly to our vertically integrated supply chain, we accomplish both our promise to keep manufacturing in North America while focusing on profitability and supply chain resilience.”
