FAX: Limited U.S. Dollar Exposure A Huge Plus

The abrdn Asia-Pacific Income Fund ( FAX ) is a closed-end fund that provides a fairly unique way for income-seeking investors to achieve their goals. Unlike most bond funds, this one invests primarily in foreign bonds from countries located in the Asia-Pacific region. The Asia-Pacific region has historically been one of the more rapidly growing regions of the world, although it seems to have slowed down over the past decade or so. Back in the late 20th century, though, several Asian countries around the Pacific Rim were considered to be premier places to invest capital. These countries were known as the Asian Tigers. As Investopedia explains :

The Four Asian Tigers are the high-growth economies of Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan. Fueled by exports and rapid industrialization, the Four Asian Tigers have consistently maintained high levels of economic growth since the 1960s, and have collectively joined the ranks of the world’s wealthiest nations.
