Intro & Thesis
One of the best-known ways to build a balanced portfolio is the 60/40 asset allocation concept, where 60% of a portfolio is invested in equities and 40% in fixed income. This is precisely what the iShares Core 60/40 Balanced Allocation ETF ( AOR ) offers. It uses the aforementioned strategy with the aim of seeking capital appreciation through exposure to equities and capital preservation when the market falls by exposing itself to fixed income (to cushion falls and provide income to the portfolio). To achieve this, the fund buys other ETFs that invest in fixed income and equities, so we could say that it is a fund of funds, operating highly liquid and diversified ETFs....
