Overview
BlackRock Capital Allocation Term Trust ( BCAT ) operates as a closed-end fund that provides a blended approach between equities and income-producing securities. This blended approach has the potential to allow the fund to participate in market rallies while also generating income as a way to hedge against market declines. Unfortunately, BCAT's structure has some flaws that may prevent it from being a solid long-term investment. When I previously covered BCAT, I issued a hold rating due to the questionable dividend yield.
