There is no doubt that 2025 has been a good year for international stocks. It has been an even better year for many single-country ETFs that have doubled, or in some cases even tripled, the returns of the S&P 500. As of December 21, 14 single-country ETFs have year-to-date gains of 50% or more. A total of 32 have returns that have topped those in the US. Of course, US equities have traditionally produced higher returns over the long-run, so a return to the mean for many of these funds is reasonable to expect in 2026....
