BYD: Macro Challenges May Have The Upper Hand In 2026

As my close followers may know, I am based in Dubai, UAE. While some investors were shocked to learn that BYD Company Limited ( BYDDF ) had surpassed Tesla, Inc. ( TSLA ) in global sales in 2024, I saw this coming very early given how BYD was dominating the EV market in Dubai. If you ordered a "comfort" ride on Careem (Dubai's Uber equivalent) a few years ago, you were likely to be greeted in a Lexus. However, if you do the same today, a BYD Han is very likely to pick you up. Not only Careem but several other corporate fleet operators have embraced BYD vehicles over the past few years, sending an early indication of BYD's potential to dominate the global EV market in the long run. Even Dubai's government taxi service (operated by the RTA) has aggressively embraced BYD vehicles in the past couple of years....
